What is a metal kit house?

Pre-engineered metal barndominium kits are a modern building method that utilizes solid steel I-beams for the primary framing and cold-formed steel for the secondary framing with pre-painted metal siding and roofing panels.

Our building kit packages are delivered to your job site as a complete bolt-together kit, allowing for fast and efficient construction.

Please note that we only supply the building house kit package; you will need to work with your chosen contractor to frame out the interior using either wood or steel studs.

Common Questions

A big 30×60 metal garage offers 1,800 square feet of floor space, providing room for various needs. To calculate the square footage of a rectangular building, you simply multiply the width (30′) by the length (60′). Therefore, the square footage of a 30×60 metal garage can be calculated by multiplying 30 by 60, which equals 1,800 square feet.

With doors on each end of the building, you can store up to six cars in a 30×60 building, or if you prefer, 3 cars can be parked with ease while still leaving over 900 square feet of workshop or storage space. Alternatively, if the doors are placed on the sidewalls, you could comfortably park five cars or trucks and still have ample room left.

For a single-story home, you would have space for three small bedrooms or two full-sized bedrooms. Alternatively, if you choose a two-story configuration, you would have sufficient floor space for a four-bedroom family home; for design and layout ideas, see our sample metal house plans.

If you require more space, you might wan to consider our 40×60 metal building which offers either 2,400 sq ft on one level or 4,800 square feet as a two-story house.

Red Iron is a common term used to describe a pre-engineered steel building. Although the buildings are not made from iron they do have a red finish to them due to the red oxide paint that is applied to the framing to prevent corrosion.

On average, a 30×60 concrete slab costs about $10,800. The price per square foot typically falls between $4 and $8, covering both materials and labor, based on national averages. However, the final cost may vary significantly depending on the location of your building.
